Treasure Island
The Coco Island National Park
Date
July 05 to July 12, 2008-Eight days, seven nights
We'll visit one of the most exquisite locations of Costa Rica, Coco Island National Park. It is located 532 Km away from Blanco Cape towards the Southwest of the Costa Rica's Pacific coast.
We will experience 8 days of terrestrial and seascape adventures surrounded by a blue and turquoise sea, with extraordinary and singularly transparent waters. We'll be surrounded by old legends of pirates and corsairs refuges that flourished throughout the Pacific costs of Spanish America.
We will feel the emotions of the hidden treasures myths, and enjoy the true treasure of the island, life itself in the island.
We'll have different educational and recreational activities, within an ecological atmosphere and outdoors enjoyment, for example hiking by different signaled paths at the island. Some walks require a moderate effort as in the Wafer Bay, or if you want a bigger challenge you can try the Iglesias Hill that has the biggest elevation at the island with 575 meters above sea level (MASL).
During the visit to the island, we will practice maritime activities such as kayak journeys, snorkeling; we'll go around the island in Zodiac boats, to do some bird watching and observing coastal caverns, small islands and other landscapes.
We will have the attendance of Biologists specialize in Maritime Atmospheres of Costa Rica, who work with Promar Foundation. They will offer us different talks and interesting conferences related to different aspects of the island and its environment. We'll also have a Tropical Biology specialist, with deep knowledge about the island.
